Simon has been Chairman of Tilstone since its formation in 2010 and was a founding investor. Prior to that, he worked with Andrew Bird whilst Andrew was property director at Barlows Plc, trading a number of portfolios including a sale to Westbury Fund Management.

Andrew founded the Tilstone brand in 2010 to focus on commercial property investment and development. After identifying opportunities within the warehouse sector, the focus moved in August 2013 to creating the “Tilstone Property Portfolio”, which the Company acquired as its seed portfolio. As Managing Director of Tilstone, Andrew takes overall responsibility for strategy, direction and business performance.
Prior to founding Tilstone, in 1994, Andrew was appointed as Property Director to the board of Barlows plc, a north-west focused commercial property company with a listing on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. He was subsequently part of a consortium that took the company private in 2001. The business created a separate asset management company through which Andrew served on the investment committee of Westbury plc, a quoted property fund (2002-2007). Andrew has also served as a non-executive director of Dee Valley Group plc, a London Stock Exchange quoted water utility company.

Paul MakinBSc Hons, MRICS Investment Director
Paul is Tilstone’s Investment Director and is responsible for the sourcing of investment opportunities, asset management and creating positive occupier relationships.
He has extensive investment consultancy experience through his work at CBRE Limited and subsequently at Mapeley Estates Limited (a previously quoted property company), where he was Head of Investment and Investment Asset Management, tasked with extracting value from outsourcing contracts and new acquisitions. Paul expanded his horizons with a senior investment asset management role at Moorfield Group Limited, a real estate private equity company. There he took a key role in the purchase and asset management of projects such as the UK Logistics Fund, in a joint venture with SEGRO plc.

Peter Greenslade BA Hons, FCABA Hons, FCA Finance Director
Peter has significant experience in company management, control, reporting and corporate activity, especially in the private equity arena. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Binder Hamlyn, before working in a variety of finance roles for blue chip companies including Grand Metropolitan (Diageo plc), De La Rue plc and ICL plc. During his time as Group Finance Director of Robert Walters plc, the company successfully floated on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. While he was at Spectron Group Limited, the company was restructured and eventually sold to a trade buyer.
As part of the management team of Axiom Consulting Limited, Peter was involved in a management buyout from Aon Limited, funded by private equity, and later its trade sale to Charles Taylor plc. He was also part of the team at Kane Group Limited which undertook the private equity-backed acquisition of HSBC Insurance Services Limited. Peter is also a founder of RPL Investments Limited, a company which specialises in assisting with raising funds for small businesses as well as advising on corporate strategy.

Gary LeesBSc (Hons) MRICS Senior Asset Manager
Gary is a chartered surveyor with over 20 years of Industrial & Logistics real estate experience that is directly relevant to his role at Tilstone. He was most recently at Antler Property Investments LLP where he was an Asset Management Director responsible for a large 33-site portfolio and multiple sales following the implementation of successful management strategies.
Following university, Gary started his career and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at international property consultants King Sturge LLP, now part of JLL, where during the majority of his eight years he held a UK-wide property management role supervising regional teams of staff and reporting directly to institutional clients.
At Tilstone Gary is based in London, reporting to investment director Paul Makin and leverages his national network and expertise to improve income and value across a diversified portfolio of multi-let UK urban warehouses.

Adam SmithBa Hons, MSc, MRICS Senior Asset Manager
Adam is a Chartered Surveyor and has undertaken asset management for over ten years across a range of use classes and UK regions, with a pre-dominant focus on the multi-let industrial sector. Having developed a wide contact base and gained diverse experience, Adam has an established track record for identifying and implementing value-add opportunities.
His professional training was undertaken at international property consultants DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) where he managed property on behalf of A&J Mucklow Group Plc, an industrial focused Real Estate Investment Trust. Following this role, he moved to Hansteen Plc and subsequently Dunedin Property to manage assets held in an industrial joint venture with Brockton Capital.
Adam was most recently at M7 Real Estate, where he was responsible for co-managing the UK assets of a pan-European investment fund on behalf of Blackstone, capturing c£280m of assets by value. At Tilstone, Adam is based at our Midlands office in Banbury and reports to Investment Director, Paul Makin.

Harry is responsible for assisting with financial modelling, asset management and asset acquisition processes.
He is both a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Surveyor, having gained a First Class Degree in History from Durham University.

Pam joined Tilstone in May 2018 as Group Financial Controller.
Pam has had a highly successful career across a number of sectors. For 10 years she worked as the Financial Controller for a property development and investment company focused on the UK market, but with a number of domestic and overseas funding partners. More recently, Pam has worked at Group Financial Controller level in the Oil / Gas and Renewable Energy sector, identifying weaknesses in the financial systems, and implementing solutions.
As a Chartered Accountant, Pam has solid technical skills as well as a strong commercial acumen. She has in-depth experience in the real estate sector.

Alex is a chartered surveyor with a broad range of commercial property experience. For the last five years, Alex has worked in London for general practice Chartered Surveyors, Aston Rose within both the property management and investment agency teams dealing with a variety of national instructions. Alex has an extensive understanding of the multi-let industrial sector having dealt with a large number of assets in this sub-sector of the market whilst at Aston Rose. He has also built a network of contacts through his time as an investment agent and member of the organising committee for the industry 'PropSki' event. At Tilstone, Alex will focus on assets in the southern regions and reports to Senior Asset Manager, Gary Lees

Greg LaceyBA Hons, MSc, MRICS Asset Manager
Greg is a Chartered Surveyor with over five years’ experience of asset and property management across all use classes having practiced in several UK regional markets. He has a proven ability to improve income and value across diversified portfolios thanks to a strong network of contacts and a ‘hands on’ approach to understanding occupiers’ business strategies.
After University, Greg joined the ASDA Stores Ltd graduate scheme. Enthused by site research and location planning he spent a year working in the Market Development team appraising new store locations across London. Greg secured a place in the real estate team to pursue a property career and asset manage Asda’s retail, land and investment portfolio across the North West, Yorkshire & East Midlands whilst undertaking his APC and studying for his MSc in Real Estate and Property Management.
Greg was most recently at CEG managing part of the Northern portfolio comprising 1.3 million square foot of industrial, offices, retail, leisure and development land delivering strategic asset management, property management and value-add initiatives for the national Swedish pension fund AP1-AP4 covering assets valued at c. £120m. Joining Tilstone in April 2019, Greg is based at our North West office in Chester and reports to Investment Director, Paul Makin.
